Welcome to Julie and Doug’s Wedding Festival Weekend Website!
If you are here it’s because we love you and you’re important to us. For most of you, you’ve seen us grow individually for a long time and have been there for us throughout many stages of life, and many of you have had the pleasure of seeing us together and our love blossom. No matter how long it’s been since we’ve seen you, or how often we stay in touch, we are excited to share our love and joy with you because you have all touched our hearts at some point in our journey and therefore are a part of our story! We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
The wedding weekend will be a 3-day extravaganza at a mountain resort in the Catskills. The full itinerary has its own page. Given that a lot of you will be flying from far away, we felt that a 4 hour party wasn’t enough to get the quality time that we wanted with all of our guests, so we campin’ baby!
With Julie’s love of music and Doug’s general laid back vibes, paired with the fact that the venue is just 20 minutes away from Woodstock, the idea for Moorefest was born.
Our Story
Julie and Doug's love story is a testament to serendipity and the power of connection. They first crossed paths on Bumble, drawn together by a shared passion for strawberry rhubarb pie and deep chats. They went on a hike for their first date, and Doug lured Julie in by bringing his puppy.
They discovered that they both went to Greenwich High School, although Doug was a cool older senior when Julie was a noob freshman, so their paths didn’t cross until fate brought them together (and modern dating technology).
Their relationship blossomed gradually, each moment deepening their understanding of one another. Meeting during COVID, they had a lot of time to take long walks, cook together, and just be with each other.Together, they explored new places and built a life together. They can often be found taking a stroll around the neighborhood with their dog Voodoo. Julie cherished Doug's thoughtful gestures, like surprise handwritten notes or impromptu gestures of love. Doug admired Julie's compassionate spirit and unbridled optimism. Doug and Julie often debate over who is the funniest, and the jury is still out. Julie loves Doug’s silliness, originality, and strong sense of self. Doug appreciates Julie’s empathy and free spirit. Together they share a deep connection like neither has ever felt before and they balance each other out.
In the heart of the beautiful Catskills Mountains, nestled among trees just like their first date, Doug proposed to Julie at a secluded cabin in the woods. And she said, “YES!” (Obviously, that’s why we’re here).
Now, again amongst the trees and nature, Julie and Doug plan to wed and start the next chapter of their adventure in love. With the support of family and friends, they will formalize the little family that they’ve already created with Doug’s daughter Sophie and their dog Voodoo.
